Metacognition in Schizophrenia Spectrum Disorders—Current Methods and Approaches

Metacognition essentially represents “thinking about thinking”, or the individual’s capacity to control and monitor their own cognitive processes. impairment in schizophrenia a core feature of disease, and, last fifteen years, subject has evolved into growing study area concentrating on wide variety processes, such as clinical insight, autobiographical memory, beliefs, reasoning, memory biases. Since metacognition is complex subject, we wanted focus different nuances transposed lives patients diagnosed with either schizoaffective disorder. Therefore, this narrative review aims analyze literature order provide an insight regarding current methods approaches disorders, well results provided. Results from reviewed studies showed that have lower metacognitive ability, which strongly reflected lives.
